Our Facility

The finished quality of our products was so important to us, the owners of Stand Six Inc., that we decided to purchase and operate our own manufacturing facility. This way we could control quality literally from the beginning —in our fields— through to the end. In 2001, we purchased a former dairy facility in Barrhead, Alberta and began the arduous task of converting it into a contemporary, customized facility, designed specifically to receive, process and package fresh greens, vegetables and fruits.

photoA new company was formed and launched in this facility to produce natural, bulk ingredients destined for the health food industry. That company, Sepallo Food Ingredients, is now one of the largest manufacturers of greens —wheat, barley and alfalfa leaf juice powders, in North America. Sepallo also produces high quality organic ingredients that are sold in bulk to health industry clients around the world.

Because Stand Six Inc. owns this complex manufacturing facility, we have immediate access to a wide range of production processes including spray drying, evaporation, fermentation, concentration, extraction, blending, grinding, freezing, dehydration and in-house analysis. This gives us incredible versatility to exercise our creativity and knowledge in ways that are manifested in a highly innovative and nutritious line of finished products. photo—Along with our standard toll processing capabilities, the facility is equipped with select pilot processing equipment that conveniently accommodates research and development work and prospective product creations.

Our 40,000 sq. ft. facility is Certified Organic, Kosher Certified, Natural Health Products Directorate Site Licensed and has evolved into a modern, highly versatile plant that boasts some of the most progressive equipment available today. All of the equipment that we currently employ was constructed of stainless steel, specifically for food industry usage and much of it was engineered specifically for our unique purposes. This includes equipment deployed to selectively concentrate nutritional properties of plant based products, sophisticated chilling systems to ensure that we retain the nutritional properties of fresh greens and vegetables as well as computerization to facilitate detailed tracking of all production parameters for every lot of every product. All of the equipment within the facility is tied together in a complex system that is overseen by a skilled crew of maintenance, sanitation and operational staff.

IIt is not possible to efficiently operate a manufacturing facility of this scope without having a strong emphasis on operational management Stand Six Inc. has developed exceptionally high standards of production that are maintained through a combination of on-going training of all staff and management, stringent adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and attention to detail at every level.
